3D online printing: a success

Who is Weerg?
The first ecommerce that offers CNC and 3D online printing with free real-time estimate. Matteo Rigamonti, the founder says “I have always found mechanics an interesting material.”
The fact of conceiving and constructing something starting from an inner idea and raw material has always exerted on me a certain fascination, even if, I confess, it’s not in manual skill.
In this lack, every time I needed to make a piece, I had to turn to others, it was a gap between eternal quotes, delayed deliveries and frequent machining errors.
That is why I asked myself ”why does the sector work in this way? Could this kind of service not be offered in a better way?”
Matteo Rigamonti, the founder continues ”So I created exactly the service I would like to receive.”
Starting from the customer’s 3D CAD file, Weerg produces CNC and 3D print parts with a free and instant online quote on certain delivery dates.
All this by using the world’s top technologies: for CNC 5; for 3D printing using HP Jet Fusion. All extraordinary machines of great reliability and precision.
The ecommerce allows you to arrive quickly anywhere and directly to interested people: you just need to know how to build a site and offer good products.
In addition to this, the network makes it possible not to be conveyed to the local market and to sell worldwide: in the case of Weerg, 33% of the total number of active Italian customers is currently active, with Germany 24% second, followed by other countries.
But the incredible thing that Australia is at 5% and continues to register a growing trend” Rigamonti points out.
More than prototyping
In terms of 3D machining, customer feedback is positive.
Rigamonti says ”60 days after installing the first machine we ordered two more machines, giving life to the largest installation in Southern Europe. Apart from some initial focus, the product keeps its promises and customers who receive the pieces in 3/4 days at a price often 50% lower than before find it hard to return to old habits.
Certainly, the clientele here is made up more of those who are defined as innovators in marketing. Fans are at least 20% of customers against 5% of the CNC, while mechanical workshops are queued up because they are not completely convinced.
In any case, the absolute novelty is that for certain types of parts this technology is cheaper than injection moulding even for thousands of pieces: we no longer count the number of runs that are requested from 1,000 to 5,000, not only for the price but also for the fact that we can have them in 4/5 days and without the complication and costs of the mould.”
Online 3D printing is a winning weapon. 3DZ is the pioneer
Many of Weerg’s customers test the 3D printing service for applications that were previously produced in CNC or die-casting. They are engineers, designers, but also companies that operate on behalf of third parties.
